The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a 33-year-old Canandaigua woman was taken into custody for contempt after an investigation into a disturbance earlier this week.

On Monday, Christine Marie Smith, 33, of Canandaigua, was arrested for Criminal Contempt in the second degree. The arrest followed an investigation into a disturbance at 1012 Woodland Park Circle in the Town of Canandaigua.

Authorities determined that Smith violated a stay-away order of protection by visiting the residence of the protected party. As a result, she was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment.

Smith is scheduled to appear in Town of Canandaigua Court at a later date to respond to the charge.
