The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Marc A. Santiago, 23, of Smith Road, following a motor vehicle collision in the Town of Marion. Santiago was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of 0.08 or greater, Consumption of Alcohol in a Vehicle, and Failure to Keep Right.
Deputies stated that Santiago swerved to avoid a deer, left the roadway, and struck a street sign. Further investigation revealed he was intoxicated, and a chemical test at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office showed a BAC of 0.16%.
Santiago received appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Marion Court on June 5 at 6:00 p.m. to address the charges.
