A local woman was taken into custody for DWI after an erratic driver investigation in the village of Penn Yan. Susan L. Ralston was arrested on May 4th in Penn Yan after being observed driving erratically.
Penn Yan Police initiated a traffic stop on Elm Street when they noticed Ralston’s vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Liberty Street. Identified by her license, Ralston underwent field sobriety tests, which she failed, leading to her arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Ralston was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert following her arrest and underwent a blood draw back in Penn Yan as part of the investigation.
She was issued traffic tickets for DWI and failing to keep right, and was released to appear at Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
