The accident occurred on May 1 at the intersection of State Route 96A and East Lake Road when Cody J. Maher, 28, failed to yield at a stop sign, causing a collision with Cindy Myers’ vehicle. Cindy, 76, and John, 79, both sustained significant injuries and were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover John’s medical expenses. Donations can also be sent to the Ovid Fire Department, P.O. Box D, Ovid, 14521, with “John Myers” in the memo. Maher received a traffic ticket for failing to yield and will appear in Town of Fayette Court at a later date.
