Ontario County seeks residents for planning board openings in Canadice and Hopewell

Ontario County announced openings for two representatives on its Planning Board, inviting residents of Canadice and Hopewell to apply. The board, which convenes on the second Wednesday of each month at 74 Ontario Street in Canandaigua, plays a critical role in reviewing development applications and planning reports that may impact the county at a broader intermunicipal level.

The positions offer residents a chance to contribute to discussions on agriculture, tourism, historic preservation, transportation, economic development, and environmental preservation. The Ontario County Planning Board’s decisions help shape the county’s development and ensure that local projects align with broader county goals.

Interested candidates, who must be Ontario County residents, are encouraged to send a letter of interest and outline their relevant experiences to Linda Phillips at [email protected]. Appointments are made by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors based on recommendations from the respective Town Boards.
