Gas prices in New York State rose for the second consecutive week, hitting an average of $3.45 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday. This marks an increase from the previous week’s average price of $3.38 per gallon, as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Over the past month, fuel prices in the state have climbed approximately 17 cents.
Comparing year-over-year figures, the average price for gasoline in New York was slightly higher last year at $3.55 per gallon. The highest recorded price within the past year was $3.86 on August 14, 2023, while the lowest was $3.11 on January 22, 2024.
Nationally, the average gas price was $3.63 last week, which is about 4.8% higher than New York’s current average. This national average has risen from $3.59 the previous week.
