Police say a parolee was arrested for menacing after chasing a woman who fled from him following a domestic incident in Cayuga County.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to Route 370 near Route 38 in the Town of Victory on April 6, responding to a reported domestic incident witnessed by a passerby.

Initially unable to find the vehicle or individuals involved, deputies eventually located them at a Dollar General in the Village of Cato.

The investigation revealed Ronald L. Williams, recently released from prison and currently on parole, was involved in a physical altercation with a female driver, who is also in an active relationship with him.

Following the argument inside their vehicle, the situation escalated when the female stopped the car to escape, prompting Williams to chase and engage in a physical altercation with her on the roadside.

Williams was arrested and charged with menacing, a Class B Misdemeanor. After processing at the Public Safety Building, Williams was taken to the Cayuga County Jail, released on his own recognizance at centralized CAP court, and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Victory Court at a future date.
