A two-car crash in Enfield on Wednesday evening resulted in minor injuries for two individuals, following a collision attributed to road glare. The incident, which occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on Route 79/Mecklenburg Road near Black Oak Road, prompted a response from the Enfield Volunteer Fire Company. Officials reported that the crash led to the temporary closure of one lane of traffic while the injured parties were assessed on the scene.
The cause of the accident was determined to be the sun’s glare, which impaired one driver’s visibility, causing their vehicle to inadvertently cross Route 79 and collide with an eastbound vehicle. This resulted in side-impact damage to one car, which ended up in a ditch, and front-impact damage to the other vehicle. Fortunately, it seems neither individual required hospitalization following the incident.
Enfield fire crews managed the ensuing traffic disruptions, with assistance from Enfield EMTs and Bangs Ambulance in treating the injured. The quick response and efficient handling of the scene mitigated further traffic issues and ensured prompt care for those affected by the crash.
