Cayuga County man arrested for DWI and weapon possession

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a local man following a roadside investigation.

Levi T. Barron was arrested in the town of Brutus for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and possessing an illegal weapon. The arrest occurred after the deputy noticed Barron committing several traffic violations and decided to pull him over. An investigation revealed that Barron was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Upon searching Barron’s vehicle, authorities found a Blackjack, a type of weapon banned in New York State, leading to additional charges. Barron faces charges of aggravated DWI, DWI, criminal possession of a weapon, and other traffic offenses.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
