  • Staff Report

Charlene C. Kowalski, a 32-year-old woman from Bath, has been arrested following a series of vehicle thefts spanning New York and Pennsylvania. The Village of Bath Police Department disclosed that Kowalski was apprehended for stealing a vehicle from the Save A Lot parking lot in Bath, New York, on January 14. The stolen vehicle was subsequently located in a parking lot in Marysville, Pennsylvania, where local police arrested Kowalski.

After her initial charge and release in Pennsylvania, the Village of Bath Police Department, informed of her whereabouts, arrested Kowalski in Casey Lane. At the time of her arrest, Kowalski was discovered in possession of another stolen vehicle, this time from Middlesex Township in Pennsylvania. She faces charges including grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both class D felonies.

Kowalski has been summoned to Bath Village Court and is currently held at the Steuben County Jail, pending bail. This case highlights the cross-state nature of some criminal activities and the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in different states.
