Cayuga County is set to receive over $443,000 in matching funds from the New York Department of State, recognizing the county’s successful implementation of shared services projects.

This award, part of the County-Wide Shared Services Initiative, matches the savings achieved in the first year of the county’s initiatives.

In 2020, Cayuga County executed three projects under its shared services plan, saving taxpayers a total of $443,481.

These projects included a collaborative effort with the City of Auburn for Medicare Advantage plans, resulting in lower premiums and appropriate coverage; joint salt purchases by the county’s highway department and various local governments; and shared fuel purchases between the county’s highway department and several local entities.
