Tompkins teen involved in fatal crash sees condition improve

An 18-year-old from Tompkins County, identified as Daniel “Ty” Beeman, is showing signs of improvement following a fatal car crash that occurred a week and a half ago.

Beeman, who was driving a Toyota Yaris, was involved in a multi-vehicle accident that tragically resulted in the death of his 17-year-old passenger, Peyton Shaw, of Waverly.

According to a recent update from Mansfield University, Beeman is now in stable condition at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved were examined on-site and subsequently released without requiring hospitalization.
