In a proactive police operation on December 17 the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office apprehended two individuals involved in a suspected drug transaction in Ithaca.

The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. near Chucks Mobil at 540 West State Street.

Deputies, while patrolling the area, noticed two males engaging in activities indicative of a drug deal. Upon interviewing both parties, their suspicions were confirmed, leading to the arrests.

Henry C. Spencer, 59, of Ithaca, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, for possessing methamphetamine. He was released with an appearance ticket for City of Ithaca Court.

Scott A. Tredeau, 42, also from Ithaca, faced more severe charges, including criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both Class D Felonies, involving methamphetamine and heroin. He was detained at the Tompkins County Jail pending centralized arraignment.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the community.
