Repeat sex offender from Bath sentenced to 162 months for child pornography

Ryan Hamilton, 32, of Bath has been sentenced to 162 months in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release for child pornography charges, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced.

The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa, also includes an order for Hamilton to pay $18,000 in restitution to the victims. This sentencing follows Hamilton’s previous convictions for similar offenses.

Hamilton’s latest conviction arose from an October 2019 discovery of approximately 87 videos and 1,124 images of child pornography on an SD card. These materials were found while he was under supervision by New York State Parole. Assistant U.S.

Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, who managed the case, noted that the content included children under 12 years of age and depicted violence. Hamilton had prior convictions in August 2016 and September 2017 in Steuben County Court for possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16 years old.

The investigation leading to this sentencing was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York State Police, and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
