Police in Waterloo have arrested two people following an animal neglect investigation.
Derrick M. Ochs, 50, of Sodus, and Lindsey M. Vancleef, 34, of Utica, were arrested following an investigation into a report of a dog found abandoned in a residence without adequate food or water.
The investigation, which led to the discovery of the neglected animal, prompted charges against both Ochs and Vancleef for failure to provide proper sustenance to an animal.
Details about the condition of the dog or the length of time it was left alone were not immediately available.
The involvement of Ochs and Vancleef in the incident and their relationship to the dog or the residence were not specified in the police report.
Following their arrests, Ochs and Vancleef were both issued appearance tickets.
They are scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court on later dates, which have not been disclosed.
