Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that one person was taken into custody on November 20 after deputies responded to a suspicious incident on Rt. 34 and VanHorn Rd in the town of Cato.
The incident, occurring around 12:50 p.m., led to the discovery of Carolyn L. Gray operating a vehicle under the influence of an illegal substance.
Upon investigation by deputies and members of the New York State Police, Gray was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building.
There, she underwent an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert from the Camillus Police Department.
Following the evaluation, Gray was charged with DWI and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
Gray was released on uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Cato Court at a later date.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the assistance provided by the New York State Police and the Camillus Police Department in handling the incident.
