The Syracuse men’s basketball team is in Hawaii for the first time since 2013 to compete in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational.

The Orange open the tournament today against Tennessee at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

Syracuse and Tennesse are off to 3-0 starts, but the Volunteers sit seventh in the nation and have won all three matchups by double-digits. The Orange, on the other hand, erased a 24-point deficit last week to take down Colgate 79-75 and remain unbeaten.

The two teams will meet for the first time since 2002 and just the seventh time overall. Tennessee has won the last two games, but the all-time series is tied at three.

Syracuse has a 9-0 record in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The Orange captured the crown in all three of its previous visits in 1990, 1998, and 2013.
