Frederick Trivitt, 63, of Newark, entered a guilty plea to the charge of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, a crime that could see him incarcerated for up to 20 years.
The announcement came Thursday from the office of Trini Ross, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York.
Authorities found 368 images and 26 videos of child pornography, some of which featured violent acts or involved infants, on Trivitt’s laptop. He further confessed to having engaged in a pattern of sexually abusing a minor for about seven years.
Trivitt’s arrest earlier this year was the result of a joint investigation by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and state police, supported by the Wayne County district attorney’s office. Sentencing is slated for February under Judge Charles Siragusa.
