The Skaneateles Police Department, in collaboration with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, is investigating a spate of recent car larcenies in the town and village areas.

Authorities have also received reports of “a man engaging in lewd behavior” on the Charlie Major Nature Trail, prompting an increase in surveillance measures. Local residents are advised to secure their vehicles, ensure valuables are out of sight, and immediately report any suspicious activities or incidents of lewd behavior to the police.

The town has further emphasized safety by advising residents to avoid visiting the Charlie Major trail alone until the individual displaying inappropriate behavior is apprehended. With these concerns rising, the town’s officials urge the community to remain vigilant and proactive, promptly calling 911 to report any unusual activities or incidents. Further updates can be accessed on the town’s official Facebook page.
