New York unveils first state-approved cannabis showcase

In a historic move, New York state has paved the way as the first in the U.S. to authorize the sale of cannabis at a state-sanctioned venue.

Coinciding with the Great New York State Fair, the Cannabis Growers Showcase has been launched. The groundbreaking initiative, receiving approval from the governor’s office, the Department of Agriculture and Markets, and the Office of Cannabis Management, allows growers to directly engage with consumers.

Advocates and business owners emphasized the importance of such platforms, noting that many cultivators lack representation on store shelves.

They anticipate an increase in the issuance of state licenses to further expand product availability.

The showcase, situated just a half mile from the State Fair, has aspirations of being on the fairgrounds in the coming year, solidifying its position in the state’s cannabis industry.
