A Cayuga County man, Christopher Laframboise of Weedsport, has pleaded guilty to a machete attack earlier this year that left the victim with significant injuries.

The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Laframboise admitted to charges of attempted murder and assault stemming from the incident on February 6, 2023, in the Town of Victory.

The attack, which targeted the victim’s neck, resulted in a large laceration and a broken jaw.

Laframboise was apprehended soon after the assault during a traffic stop in the Town of Conquest.

Initially, he declined a plea deal that proposed a 15-year prison term followed by five years of post-release supervision.

With his recent plea, he now faces the prospect of 13 years in prison and an additional five-year post-release supervision. His sentencing is slated for November.
