On February 1st the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fredrick C. Parish, 57, of Seneca Falls, on charges of fraud and extortion.
The arrest followed an investigation into a complaint that Parish had fraudulently filed paperwork with the Seneca County Clerk’s Office in October 2022, resulting in him acquiring ownership of a property in the Town of Fayette.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, after acquiring the property, Parish attempted to extort money from the original owner in exchange for transferring the property back. As a result of the investigation, Parish was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of offering a false instrument for filing, and attempted grand larceny..
Parish was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Waterloo Town Court on February 22nd to answer the charges. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
