The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team pulled away in the second half to beat the Monmouth Hawks, 86-71, on Monday night at the JMA Wireless Dome. With the victory, Syracuse extended their win streak to four and improved to 7-4 on the season.
Syracuse led by just two at halftime but outscored Monmouth 44-40 in the second half to secure the victory.
Five players finished in double figures for the Orange. Judah Mintz led the way with a career-high 24 points, five assists, and four steals. Joe Girard hit four three-pointers and finished with 16 points. Jesse Edwards recorded his fifth double-double of the season, netting 12 points and securing 10 rebounds. Benny Williams poured in 13, while Maliq Brown added 11.
