The Victor Central School District has confirmed that a former student made ‘concerning comments’ on social media before and after crashing a vehicle on the school’s campus Tuesday.
The former student is in custody and hospitalized. He’s not currently a threat to the community, district officials said in communication to parents.
The incident took place on High Street near the south entrance to the school.
An additional school resource officer was brought in on Wednesday as a precaution. They has also increased security during after school activities.
“The above steps are precautionary in nature. If the person is released, the Sheriff’s Office is putting steps in place to maintain the highest levels of safety,” a statement from Victor School superintendent Tim Terranova said. “We are following the protocols given to us by the Sheriff’s Office and will maintain higher levels of security on campus as long as they deem it necessary as a precautionary measure. I am extremely thankful for the collaboration between law enforcement and the District.”

Officials acknowledged the stress that families were under after the incident.
“I know this incident has been stressful on families. Professionals from your child’s school will be reaching out to parents and guardians in the very near future with resources on how to talk to your children about incidents like this one,” Terranova added.
As for the incident, possible charges, or age of the suspect – vast details remain unclear.
