Richard Hewitt, age 28, of Clyde was charged with driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed around 7:30 p.m. on October 1st.

Deputies responded to the area of Clyde Road and State Route 31 in Lyons for the report of a 911 hang-up call that appeared to be in a vehicle traveling down Route 31.

The phone number came back to Hewitt.

Deputies observed a motorcycle in the same area as the hang-up call that was coming in and attempted to catch up to it as the motorcycle attempted to speed away.

he was charged with DWI and other offenses. Deputies said they were assisted by New York State Police, Lyons Fire Department, Wayne County ALS, and Lyons Town Ambulance.
