Manchester man arrested after welfare fraud investigation in Geneva

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Manchester man following a welfare fraud investigation.

According to a news release, Michael Caldarelli, 61, of Manchester was charged with one count of grand larceny and one count of offering a false instrument for filing.


He’s accused of receiving $2,500 from employment during the month of May, which he failed to report as required by state law.

It’s also alleged that he failed to report the income at re-certification with Ontario County DSS in August.

He was charged with grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing. Altogether more than $2,300 in benefits was received illegally.
