The Rochester Americans opened a two-game set with the Laval Rocket on Friday night at Place Bell Arena, and it did not go well for the visitors as they fell 8-1. With the loss, the Amerks dropped to 3-3-0 on the season.
Brandon Biro netted his second goal of the season in the second period, but that was all Rochester could generate offensively. Lukas Rousek and Jiri Kulich collected assists.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 19-of-25 shots before being pulled from the game for Michael Houser, who turned aside 8-of-10.
Rochester finished 0-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Amerks will try to snap their two-game skid on Saturday at 3 p.m.
