The Syracuse Crunch downed the Rochester Americans, 6-2, on Saturday night at the Upstate Medical University Arena. With Syracuse’s victory, the two teams split the home-and-home weekend series.
Syracuse jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period and never looked back as they added another one in the second and four in the third to secure the victory.
Felix Robert netted a hat trick to lead the Crunch offense. Daniel Walcott scored twice, while Trevor Carrick chipped in a goal. Max Lagace turned aside 30-of-32 shots.
Sean Malone and Mitch Eliot notched goals for the Amerks. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 25-of-30 shots.
Syracuse finished 1-for-3 on the power play, while Rochester went 1-for-4.
The Crunch will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on the Toronto Marlies. The Amerks will square off with the Laval Rocket on Friday.
