The Buffalo Sabres are dealing with a couple of injuries on defense, so the team recalled Lawrence Pilut from the Rochester Americans ahead of Saturday’s road game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Pilut returned to the Sabres this past summer after spending two seasons in the KHL. He recorded two assists in the first three games with Rochester this season.
Buffalo lost Henri Jokiharju during the first period of Thursday’s game in Calgary after he was hit in the mouth with a puck.
Ilya Lyubushkin is day-to-day after sustaining an injury in Edmonton on Tuesday.
The Sabres have won three of their first four games this season.
