Deputies report the arrest of a Galen man following a crash on Kelsey Road on September 3rd.

After the crash deputies could smell alcohol inside the vehicle and from 30-year-old Shawn Zimmerman, who was injured in the crash.

A blood sample taken at Strong Memorial Hospital after he was transported there for treatment of those injuries found his blood alcohol content was 0.15%.

Zimmerman was charged with DWI, operating with a BAC over 0.08%, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, and possession of an open container in a vehicle.

Zimmerman met with deputies at the Wayne County Sheriff’s office to be arrested and processed. He was released and will answer the charges at a later date.
