The Syracuse Mets suffered a 9-1 loss to the Worcester Red Sox on Thursday night at NBT Bank Stadium. With the loss, Syracuse has dropped two of the first three games in this six-game series.
Worcester cruised to victory as they plated six of their nine runs in the first four innings.
Nick Dini drove in the Mets’ only run of the game with an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the ninth inning. Aside from that, Syracuse had just three hits.
Harol González made his second start with the Mets and struggled again as he surrendered six runs on seven hits over four innings. Philip Diehl allowed three runs over two innings in relief, while Sam Clay and Bryce Montes de Oca had scoreless appearances.
Syracuse will try to bounce back on Friday and even the series. The first pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
