Rochester Red Wings win third straight over Norfolk

The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Norfolk Tides, 5-1, on Saturday night at Frontier Field. With the victory, Rochester has won three consecutive games.

Cade Cavalli started on the mound for the Red Wings and tossed seven innings of one-run ball while striking out a season-high 11 batters.

Norfolk opened the scoring in the top of the first inning as Jacob Nottingham ripped an RBI single to right field.

Rochester tied the game in the bottom of the second as John Nogowski lifted a sacrifice fly to center field.

In the bottom of the fourth, Riley Adams put the Red Wings on top with a sacrifice fly to center field.


Rochester added a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to increase their lead to 4-1. Alex Call smacked his 13th home run of the season over the left-field wall, and Adams smoked an RBI single to center field.

The Red Wings plated their final run in the bottom of the ninth as Call collected his second RBI of the night with a sacrifice fly to right field.

Everyone in Rochester’s starting lineup had at least a hit except for Andrew Stevenson and Adrian Sanchez.

The Red Wings will try to secure a series win on Sunday. The first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
