Mario Fratto, Republican candidate for New York’s 24th Congressional District, will participate in a town hall event airing on Finger Lakes News Radio July 27 at 5 p.m.
Fratto’s campaign said the radio station wanted to schedule a debate between Fratto and fellow Republican candidate Claudia Tenney, but that Tenney’s campaign did not commit to a debate.
Tenney currently represents New York’s 22nd district but is running for re-election in the redrawn 24th district.
In lieu of a debate, Finger Lakes News Radio will host a one-hour town hall event airing on July 27, 2022 at 5 p.m.
The town hall will air on stations WGVA – 106.3 FM / 1240 AM and WAUB – 96.3 FM / 1590 AM, according to Fratto’s campaign.

Fratto made the following statement:
“While I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have a Town Hall hosted by Finger Lakes News Radio, I am also very disappointed that Claudia Tenney is running from a debate. Claudia herself once said ‘the people have a right to hear from us personally on where we stand on the issues.’ She also added ‘the voters should have the option to see us in a public forum answering questions.’ I agree with her 100%. What’s changed?
What’s changed is this: now Claudia cannot defend her record of voting with AOC and Nancy Pelosi for amnesty, taxpayer funded sex changes, funding Planned Parenthood, Red Flag laws, and sponsoring a transgender rights bill.
Since Claudia has already abandoned her own constituents in NY-22, the people of our district deserve to know why we should trust her to fight for us here in NY-24. I hope she will give the voters the respect they deserve by agreeing to a debate.”

Fratto’s family has been in the district for five generations, continued the release. He is an attorney and runs his family’s granite construction business.
“He is the only true America First conservative in the race,” said Fratto’s campaign.
