The Republican Party in Seneca County has backed Mario Fratto for Congress.
The candidate seeking to represent voters in the 24th District is locked in a primary battle with Claudia Tenney.
The two spoke to the Seneca County Republican Party, and officials there opted to back Fratto.
“Claudia Tenney and I both spoke to the Seneca County GOP last night,” Fratto wrote in a statement. “While I focused on my close ties to the district and Claudi’s well-documented record of voting with far-left Democrats, my opponent used her time to attack a camera guy for recording a public meeting.”
Details of the incident were not immediately released by party officials.
“I am grateful to the county GOP and to their chairman, Tom Fox, for holding this forum and for their decision to endorse my candidacy,” Fratto added.
The primary contest between the two will take place in August.
