Sheriff wants SRO in every Cayuga County School District

It is Schenck’s hope that every school in the county will eventually have an SRO. He says the legislature has been supportive of his efforts, and he believes lawmakers will approve the plan to hire a part-time officer.

The officer would be employed by the Sheriff’s Department, with the cost reimbursed by the school district. The Auburn and Weedsport Police Departments are responsible for SROs in those districts..
