200,000 Americans can soon expect stimulus payments worth $850 each, or $1,700 for married filing jointly couples.
Maine is sending stimulus tax rebates to families all across the state.
The first round was made up pf 5,000 checks.
The rest of them will go out on a weekly basis in batches of 200,000.
Eligibility requirements for the stimulus tax rebate
There are certain requirements that must be met in order to qualify for the payments.
Income requirements depend on what your filing status is.
Individuals may not make over $100,000 per year.
Head of household filers cannot make over $150,000.
Payments of $350 per month under federal plan possible for millions of Americans
Joint filers cannot exceed over $200,000 per year.
Tax returns used from 2021 filed by Oct. 31 are used to determine payments and eligibility.
You may not be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return.
Around 858,000 Maine residents will receive payments.
Payments are not sent in any specific order, but staggered each week until they are all issued.
