Recall issued on SnoreStop NasoSpray following microbial contamination

A popular nasal spray called SnoreStop NasoSpray was issued a recall following a microbial contamination that may harm the immunocompromised.

The company, Green Pharmaceuticals Inc. has issued a recall effective June 9, 2022.

The product is a nasal spray under the name of SnoreStop NasoSpray.

Lot 2373/21222 of SnoreStop NasoSpray, packaged in 0.3 FL OZ (9ml) bottles are being recalled by the company voluntarily.

The FDA testing done found a contamination called Providencia rettgeri.

What is the contamination that caused the recall for nasal spray?

While this microorganism is not normally the cause for human illness, it can cause harm to those with compromised immune systems.

It could result in severe or life threatening illnesses like sepsis, pneumonia, and fungal infections causing major illnesses.

The nasal spray helps stop snoring and is sold in single bottles.

The sticker with the lot numbers can be found on the bottom of the bottle for lot codes of 2373.

For lot codes 21222, the sticker is on the outer packaging.

Recalled products may be returned or replaced.
