It took overtime once again, but the Rochester Americans defeated the Belleville Senators, 4-3, on Friday night at CAA Arena to advance to the North Division Semifinals.
The victory marked Rochester’s first Calder Cup Playoff series win since 2005 and
Brett Murray netted the game-winner later in the extra period. Arttu Ruotsalainen led the Amerks with two goals and two assists. Mark Jankowski also scored, and Sean Malone tallied two assists.

Andrew Agozzino, Roby Jarventie, and Zac Leslie found the back of the net for Belleville.
Aaron Dell turned aside 34-of-37 shots to earn the win for Rochester.
Filip Gustavsson stopped 26-of-30 for the Senators.
The Amerks finished 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
Rochester will face the Utica Comets in the best-of-five division semifinals beginning Tuesday night.
