Ralph Lott, Ben Guthrie to serve on Seneca County IDA after supervisors approve appointment

The Seneca County Board of Supervisors appointed two new members to serve on the Board of Directors of the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency.

Ralph Lott of Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Fayette and Ben Guthrie of Upstate Service Associates, a refrigeration company in Interlaken, will each serve a 6-year term on the IDA.

Lott and Guthrie will fill vacancies left by the resignations in 2021 of Menzo Case of Generations Bank and Steve Wadhams of Wadhams Enterprises.

The two candidates were selected in response to a solicitation posted by the IDA in February 2022 and were interviewed by a joint committee comprised of representatives from the Seneca County Board of Supervisors and the IDA. The joint committee met with the candidates in March before making their final recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.

“I’d like to thank everyone that took the time to apply to serve on the IDA Board. We had a very professional, well-respected group of candidates to choose from and hope to continue that trend. The IDA staff looks forward to working with Mr. Lott and Mr. Guthrie on economic development projects in Seneca County for many years to come,” IDA Director Sarah Davis said.

“I’m looking forward to serving again on the Seneca County IDA board, and hope to move businesses and industry forward in all locations in Seneca County,” Lott said following the announcement.

“I look forward to contributing my business experience to the team making decisions on the board,” Guthrie added.
