Ontario County is expected to move forward with a backyard composting program.
The first backyard composting program has been popular, and is expected to be offered again.
The Finger Lakes Times reports that the Department of Sustainability and Solid Waste Management solicited bids for providing composting bins, aerators, pails, rodent screens, and educational materials for people to convert organic waste into compost material at their residences.
The county’s expected to enter into agreement with Enviro World for $40,000, which cover the plan’s execution costs.
It could be voted on by the full board later this month.
