Opening day will not come on April 7 for Yankees fans. Mets fans are expected to see opening day action.

The New York Yankees announced that the opening day game scheduled against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday was postponed due to weather, but it will be made up on Friday. 

The New York Mets could also be postponed, but if they play — the game is slated for 4:05 p.m.

Mets vs. Nationals: Will Max Scherzer pitch?

Scherzer has been dealing with hamstring tightness for several days. 

As of late-Wednesday it appeared as though Scherzer would get the start against the Nationals. The Nationals will go with Patrick Corbin.
