Organizers for the Middle Finger 5K in Geneva are hoping to boost registration ahead of May 14 fundraiser event.
The charity run was cancelled in 2020 and fundraising was done virtually in 2021. Organizer Jen Harris said registration for the sixth annual 5K walk and run is currently at 300, a sharp drop compared to the 900 people who registered for the event in 2020, according to Finger Lakes Times.
The Middle Finger 5K is the largest fundraiser for Thrive to Survive, a non-profit that supports adults battling cancer in Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties.
Harris is reaching out to past participants in an effort to boost registration for the event, which is planned for May 14 at 6 a.m. at Lakefront Park.
