JJ Peterka scores twice as Amerks top Monsters, 5-4

The Rochester Americans defeated the Cleveland Monsters, 5-4, on Friday night at the Blue Cross Arena.

Four of the Amerks five goals came in the second period.

JJ Peterka scored twice while Jack Quinn, Michael Mersch and Arttu Ruotsalainen also tallied.

Rochester went 1-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.

Aaron Dell turned aside 31-of-35 shots to earn the victory.

Carson Meyer netted two goals for Cleveland while Jake Christiansen and Tim Berni also scored.

Jet Greaves stopped 17-of-22 shots in the loss.

The two teams face each other again on Saturday night. Face-off is slated for 6:05 p.m.
