A Varick man was arrested Monday following an alleged domestic incident that violated a court order and left one person injured.
Deputies with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edward L. Carter, 29, on July 14 after he was accused of physically injuring a protected party in violation of a court order.
The incident occurred July 11 at a residence on State Route 89. Authorities say Carter grabbed the victim’s right hand, causing an injury that required EMS treatment. The altercation reportedly took place in front of the couple’s two-year-old child. Carter fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Carter was later charged with first-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree harassment. He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility and remanded on $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Varick Town Court at a later date.
