Another 2.8 million Americans can rest easy this month knowing the emergency food stamps have been extended in the state of New York for March.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced that some Americans receiving food stamps should see the funds by March 17.
New Yorkers outside of the City will see a minimum of $95 dollars on top of their regular benefits.
New Yorkers in NYC will see their extra benefits between March 17 and 30.
The total amount going out in extra benefits is about $232 million.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand stated that the rise in the price of food caused by inflation is an issue, and these extra benefits are a lifeline.
The extra benefits will be loaded onto the EBT card used for regular benefits.
Any unused food stamps can be used the next month.
