The Rochester Americans fell to the Laval Rocket, 7-2, on Wednesday night at the Blue Cross Arena.
Sean Malone returned to the Amerks lineup after missing the last 30 games due to injury/COVID-19 and netted a power-play goal. Jimmy Schuldt also scored in the loss.
Aaron Dell really struggled between the pipes for Rochester as he allowed all seven goals. He finished with 30 saves.
Jesse Ylonen scored twice for the Rocket while Tory Dello, Brandon Gignac, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Devante Smith-Pelly and Danick Martel also tallied.
Kevin Poulin made 34 saves to earn the victory.
Rochester finished 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
The Amerks are back in action on Friday when they host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m.
