A new Universal Basic Income program, or UBI, is available to some Americans and will provide monthly payments of $1,000 per month.
This is for a specific demographic of residents in West Hollywood, California.
25 people will be chosen at random after applications are submitted.
They will see $1,000 per month for 17 months.

Who can get money from this UBI program?
Those that can benefit must be West Hollywood residents over the age of 50.
All residents can apply, but they need to be part of the LGBTQ community.
Your annual income has to be at or under the 50% area median income for Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Glendale.
23 U.S. locations offering up to $18,000
A family of one meets that requirement with an income of $41,400 or less.
A family of four meets that requirement with an income of $59,100 or less.
When will payments for the UBI program start?
The applications opened on Feb. 25 and end today, March 6, 2022.
Those chosen will be notified between March 14 and 31.
The first payment will go out on April 15, 2022.
You will not need a bank account, a card will be linked to one created for this program.
