The Rochester Americans just can’t catch a break.
Head coach Seth Appert announced Tuesday that forward Brandon Biro will miss at least four weeks with a lower-body injury.
Biro suffered the injury in Saturday’s 4-0 loss to the Toronto Marlies. He was upended by a hip check and hobbled to the bench.
The injury happened just four days after the 23-year-old made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres.
Biro has 36 points (9 goals, 27 assists) in 40 games with the Amerks this season.
In other news, forward Sean Malone returned to practice at the Blue Cross Arena. He hasn’t played since December 19 due to a lower-body injury. Malone has 22 points (9 goals, 13 assists) in 23 games with Rochester this season.
