Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo is dealing with a non-COVID illness and will likely miss Wednesday’s road game against the Montreal Canadiens, head coach Don Granato announced after the morning skate.
With Okposo likely out and forward Victor Olofsson also sidelined with an illness, Granato said he expects forward Brando Biro to make his NHL debut.
The 23-year-old was recalled from the Rochester Americans on Tuesday. He has recorded 36 points (9+27) in 39 games with the Amerks this season.
Biro signed with Buffalo as a free agent in 2020. He missed most of last season due to injury.
Puck drop for Wednesday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
