Amerks lose third straight, fall to Rocket 5-1

The Rochester Americans fell to the Laval Rocket, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Blue Cross Arena.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 23-of-27 shots for the Amerks. Cayden Primeau turned aside 29-of-30 shots to earn the victory for the Rocket.

Rochester went 0-for-5 on the power play and finished 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.


Ryan Scarfo scored the lone goal for the Amerks in the second period.

Cedric Desruisseaux, Peter Abbandonato, Jean-Sebastien Dea, Cameron Hillis and Sami Niku scored for Laval.

The Amerks return to action on Friday when they face the Syracuse Crunch at Upstate Medical University Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
